"The Battle Cries of Freedom"

Latest comic - click here!

I've hashed on this before, but this is the core element of the "Tea Party" that must be repeated and enshrined for history: they are whiny little pussies. I already noted last week how pathetic they are when they pretend that they're the revolutionaries they play dress-up as to express their outrage over the president's skin tone, but it's not just how they "revolt"; it's what they choose to, ah, be revolting about. And frankly, it's a lot less insipring than "protecting the core liberties of millions of people." Unless that's what they think bashing gays, immigrants and union members means, which might actually be what they think, which means they're sociopathic morons. Now if we can just get a news reporter to say that.

There have been lots of revolutions throughout history. In fact, there are some happening right now. But when you're in the middle of a real revolution, as opposed to the right-wing LARPing that's taken place at town halls for the last two years, you're a bit too busy to make the core of your movement catty comments and conspiracy theories.

If the Tea Party actually succeeds in crippling this country from within, we've set a really low bar by putting the label of "revolutionaries" on people who merely complained at previously-unrecorded levels.
