Phase 1: collect underpants

This is an actual chart from the Republican Party's "counter-proposal" budget.

Please keep in mind that, for twelve years, these people were in charge of figuring out the budget.

And here I was thinking it wouldn't get stupider than "tea parties"

After eight years of George W. Bush and almost every right-wing blogger or relevance marching in lockstep behind the glory and brilliance of Sarah Palin, the official right-wing meme is apparently that Barack Obama is an illiterate idiot.

Yeah. Good luck with that, guys.

The ladies' man

You really do have to be amazed at the special type of sociopath found in Bill O'Reilly. If you missed the coverage on ThinkProgress yesterday, Amanda Terkel (a former co-worker) revealed the details of how O'Reilly dispatched two of his producers to wait outside her apartment, follow her for two hours when she went on a weekend trip, and then attempt an on-camera confrontation about a negative post she wrote about O'Reilly three weeks ago.

Oh, sorry. I forgot I should get into the greater details of that "negative post." See, O'Reilly was invited to be a speaker at a fundraiser for the Alexa Foundation, which provides assistance to rape victims and their families. Terkel questions why the foundation would sek a spokesperson in someone who has gone on record as saying that rape victims deserve it. I think it's worth noting that in a fit of extraordinary generosity, Terkel didn't even bother to factor in Bill O'Reilly's sexual harassment lawsuit, which included the now famous transcript of him saying he wanted a woman to use a "falafel" on her "boobs."

Because of all this, O'Reilly ordered the aforementioned stalking of Terkel. Last night on his show he proudly aired an edited video of the encounter, under the headline that Terkel and ThinkProgress "hurt a rape victim and her family."

I suppose it's really a futile effort to try and cross a sea of partisanship and get some kind of concensus from both the left and right that normal humans with healthy mental states don't do this. Ultimately, you sort of have to sit there in furious awe that the mind of Bill O'Reilly is one where pretending to defend the honor of a foundation that was established to protect and support victims of sexual assault can be accomplished by sending two men to stalk a woman for two hours and them verbally assault her. Personally, it makes me wonder why O'Reilly's name isn't already in a computer database that notifies parents of small children when he's in the area.

"Sensitivity"

Latest comic - click here!

People are (rightly) expressing anger and frustration with President Obama for making a bad joke about the handicapped on his Jay Leno appearance last week. Meanwhile, the previous president had a much more direct sense of humor- he just liked to put children and the mentally handicapped to death. I imagine you will not have a hard time guessing how many right-wing bloggers picked up this interesting factoid. I bet you'll also have a pretty accurate guess about what would happen if you tried to Google the word "libtard" on their websites.

Buy some crap and join the mailing list.
